BLOOD RULE
The best thing about tournaments is
meeting new players. To this end the "Blood Rule" will be in play. This allows
players to be guaranteed that they do not have to fight players they face
regularly.
You may nominate someone under the following conditions:
Someone you;
- are related to (e.g. a brother, sister, father [I am your
father!] etc.)
- work or live with
- or members of the same gaming club
If you believe you are eligible, then let us know on the day of the
tournament, and tell us why. The blood rule will only be active for the first 3
rounds of the tourney (day 1)
BATTLE POINTS
This category counts for 0-100
points.
Each player will receive points for each battle (a score between 0
and 20. Each games total will add up to 20 points, if it doesn’t check again).
These are as follows:
• Win game = 15 points. Draw game = 10 points. Lose
game = 5 points.
- +1 If the enemy character with the highest points value was dead, falling back or had left the table by the end of the game.
- +1 If the enemy unit with the highest points value was dead, falling back or had left the table by the end of the game.
- +1 If you reduce the opposing army to its break point (25% models or less remaining).
- +1 If you have units in the opponent's deployment zone at the end of the game (units that are falling back or immobilised do not count, nor do independent characters).
- +1 If you control more table quarters than your opponent.
- -1 If your character with the highest points value was dead, falling back or had left the table by the end of the game.
- -1 If your unit with the highest points value was dead, falling back or had left the table by the end of the game.

PAINTING & MODELLING
This category counts for 0-20
points (everyone should score 20 points is this category otherwise they
shouldn’t be fielding the army).
• Is the Army FULLY painted ?
10pts
(Undercoating is not considered to be painted. Unpainted miniatures
should be removed from the table)
• Are ALL of the miniatures based/flocked ?
6pts
(It is not enough to just paint the base. It must be flocked or graveled
in some way.)
• Are units easily identifiable and distinguished from other
units that have the same type of troops etc. (ie. Different coloured bases)
4pts
ARMY SELECTION
This category counts for 0-15
points.
• Was the Army list in on time 2pts
• Is the Army list in the
correct format (Is it easy to read/calculate). 2pts
(The Games Workshop
format is available on the website www.games-workshop.com or the use of an Excel
spreadsheet is also ok, e-mail if you want a copy)
• Is the Army list correct
3pts
• Do TROOPS make up 40% of the army 4pts
This is irrespective of
squads being at full strength as there is considerable variation in squad sizes
depending upon which army is used.
(Dedicated Transports count towards this
total.)
• Do Independent Characters, squads and vehicles have names 2pts
•
Army background and theme (fluff). At least one page on the army, no more.

Army rosters must be submitted electronically by the due date to
with the file format of Firstname_Surname_ArmyType.xls .e.g.
Leigh_Avery_Eldar.xls and using either Excel or the Games Workshop format
(e-mail if you require a copy). Handwritten rosters and rosters in other formats
such as army builder will not be accepted and will be treated as both incorrect
and late. Please email your roster to cmdr_roy (at) hotmail.com
Check your
roster at least twice please, too many errors too often make me unhappy.
What if my army roster
is incorrect?
If your army is incorrect
and you point out the error to us no points will be deducted for an incorrect
list prior to the competition start. Once the competition has started if the
player points out any errors no points will be deducted for an incorrect list,
but at least two points, at the discretion of the organisers, will be deducted
per round played.
Should the organisers or an opponent find an error before
or after the commencement of the first game then the list will be both marked as
incorrect (loss of 3pts) and at least two points, at the discretion of the
organisers, will be deducted per round played (potential 10 pts).
SPORTSMANSHIP
This
category counts for 0-35 points.
Everyone will start with 20 points for
Sportsmanship. At the end of round 5 you will be required to vote for your
favourite sportsman from the 5 games you played. Each vote will be worth 3
points. This is to address the fact that everyone should be behaving nicely and
given that most people are generally nice and as such everyone will be on an
even playing field, those exceptional people will receive extra votes giving
them an advantage for being above and beyond.
You can also vote for the
nastiest army you played against (this is a vote for the army, not for the
person playing it) each vote will be worth -2 points. Those who may be nice
people, but brought nasty/cheesey/bloodangels, can be penalised through this
system. You DO NOT have to cast this vote, it is NOT compulsory.
If you
feel that your opponent acted in a grossly unsportsmanlike manner, leaving you
deeply angry or unhappy, then you can (if you must) let the TO know. Examples
include outright cheating, heated arguments, etc. this must be explained to the
organiser, who will decide whether or not to penalise the player, generally a 3
point per game penalty. One off occurrences wont result in an automatic points
deduction, warnings will be given and continued problems addressed.
